Morningstar Managed Products Data

Morningstar® Data for managed products is driven by Morningstar’s accurate, up-to-date investment database that has nearly 100% market coverage. The extent of this coverage in U.S. and global markets gives our clients the ability to better serve their audiences by providing focused, relevant data. And Morningstar Data maintains consistency across investment types to make direct comparisons not just possible, but easy.

Our comprehensive inventory of independent managed-products data includes portfolio, performance, and operations information. Familiar statistics and data are available for easy integration in third-party platforms to support activities that range from conducting research and financial modeling to creating investor-friendly communication materials. And because the industry is constantly evolving, we continually adapt our database in response to client needs, regulatory changes, and marketplace trends.

Morningstar Equity Data

Morningstar® Data for global equities offers comprehensive global coverage of fundamental data that gives our clients a single source for all of their equity data needs. This data powers client solutions such as financial models, research, investment tools, software platforms, and investor websites.

Our fundamental data license includes coverage of more than 670 standard data points for all financial line items and more than 300 calculated data points, captured from the financial statements and select footnotes of more than 41,000 publicly traded companies around the world.

We monitor press releases and regulatory news sources to capture quarterly, semiannual, and annual company announcements in local markets. After we assemble the most relevant and up-to-date information about a company’s business, data is collected in industry-specific templates (such as banking, insurance, and more) to make cross-sector comparison and analysis easy.

Beyond fundamentals, our equity data includes comprehensive ownership information from more than 40,000 distinct managed-product portfolios. Clients can use our robust institutional, beneficial, and insider ownership statistics to identify up to 90% of all individual securities publicly held, compare investments, and develop accurate financial models.
With our proprietary industry statistics and categorization data, clients can view aggregate financial data by sector, segment, or industry for company-to-industry comparisons. Additionally, Morningstar Asset Classification data delivers industry, sector, and regional constituency information across a range of investment types for robust comparisons and analysis.

Morningstar Real-Time Market Data

Global banks, brokerages, asset managers, media outlets and software providers, rely on Morningstar Real-Time data to power their applications. Covering more than 15 million instruments, we deliver fast, reliable market data and extensive histories from more than 260 global exchanges, index providers, banks, and interdealer brokers through streaming feeds, web services, snapshot files, and more.

Our distributed global network allows us to provide reliable, low-latency normalized data feeds, and our institutional market data cloud provides immediate, on-demand access to our complete set of financial market data. Clients can receive precisely scheduled delivery of intraday, end-of-day pricing, and historical data by the minute or at custom intervals.

And we manage implementation, working directly with exchanges, alternative trading venues, over-the-counter sources, index providers, and newswires to give our clients the support they need. Our market data solutions use the same normalized data model with a logical instrument-naming scheme and key cross-reference information for consistency, so all of the data can be easily integrated with a variety of systems and sent directly into end-user applications.

Morningstar ByAllAccounts Data

Our account-aggregation service gathers, transforms, and delivers financial account data from more than 15,000 sources and automatically delivers investment positions and transaction details along with security identifiers, price data, classification data, and more. We cover both transactional and positional data from a number of account types, including retirement accounts, 529 plans, annuities, bank accounts, credit cards, employee stock options, endowments, loans, offshore funds, REITs, and more.

We aggregate structured and unstructured data, using direct and institutional feeds where possible. Our proprietary technology normalizes, enriches, and delivers high-quality investment data in a single feed, which eliminates the need for manual entry and manipulation. ByAllAccounts provides multicurrency, tax lot, settlement-based, and trade-based support.
